  10. I'm looking for standards for the installation of MS-WIN and 
  11. applications.

  13. I've inherited a bunch of isolated networks and more stand-alone PCs.
  14. Over time we will be networking them all together.  There are no
  15. standards in place right now.  Every technician (or user)
  16. installs each package as he/she sees fit.  Most users put their
  17. data in the tools' own directory (even on a server !)
  18.  
  19. I'm looking for standards and techniques for handling the PATH
  20. limitation (every single tool directory wants to be path), Use of
  21. Enviroment space, etc.  
  22.  
  23. We are starting to homegrow some applications, so I'm also interented 
  24. in developers standards (ie don't expect that your application will be
  25. installed in C:\WINDOWS).
