- I want to start with WINDOWS NT on my PC:
-
- 486DX/33, 8MB, 240MB Quantum IDE,
- Diamond Stealth VRAM 1MB, 5.25+3.5 Floppy.
-
- 1a) Is the NT CD needed after installation? If not,
-
- 1b) which is the cheapest SCSI controller which allows NT installation
- using a SCSI CD drive? (I can borrow the drive, but not the
- controller)
-
- 2) I live in Germany and will visit New York City in the end of this
- Month. Since I have to buy some additional hardware, how are the
- Prices over there compared to ours?
-
- Hardware Lowest German Price (1 $ == 1.40 DM)
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- 4 x 4 MB SIMM 80 ns 4 x 140 = 560 $
- 240 MB Quantum IDE 840 $
- 240 MB Quantum SCSI 1000 $
- Cheap SCSI controller ??
- Adaptec 1542b SCSI controller kit with software 350 $
-
- 3) Is there a NT driver for S3 available yet? If yes, can someone
- upload this to cica.indiana?
