That's how I understood it as well - If the asterisk-, information-
(etc.) or question mark icon is included in a dialog box, then I
should get the sound. Only I didn't - and still doesn't, apart from
occational 'happenings'.

I know. I wrote a small, simple test program (using TPW 1.0) which
pops up a dialog box with several of the icons included (one at a
time!), with the word 'test' and only an 'OK' button.

But nope. Only sound in about one in ten attempts, seemingly random.
But the Windows Start and Windows Exit sounds always work... Why only
those?

I've tried that also, and it seems to work every time. I think the red
nose did it... ;-)  .....
