- The size of the swap file created by Windows is determined by
- the available disk space. If the swap file you have is
- permanent, deleting it will cause Windows to warn you that
- the swap file has been corrupted when you start a
- subsequent session. You can limit the amount of disk space
- that Windows uses for its swap file by opening the Control
- Panel, selecting the 386 Enchanced icon and then the
- Virtual Memory button.

- The drawback of a permanent swap file is that it stays on
- your HD even when you've quit Windows. It does, however,
- give you a slight speed advantage [over a temp. one] when
- you start up Windows. In any case, 12M is a little
- excessive unless you do some really heavy duty graphics
- work.
