- Hi,
- I have a problem changing the VGA driver for Win3.1 on my 486/33.
- I have an OAK (067) card with 512k. When I change the driver on
- windows, the screen changes without any problem, etc.
-
- I am looking for the 640x480x256colours resolution, or the
- 800x600x256 resolution. Unofortunately, once the driver has been
- changed, I cannot access the MSDOS prompt any more. Every time I
- try it barfs and says, "Incorrect System Version, run Windows setup
- again". So, even though my hardware has no problems showing the higher
- resolutions, the *ONLY* one that seems to work properly is the
- bog-standard 640x480x16 generic VGA one.
-
- Has anyone got any ideas why this should happen?
-
- BTW FWIW I've tried it with both the Windows 3.1 drivers supplied *with*
- Windows, and the Windows 3.0 Drivers supplied with the Oak card (GA100).
-
- Thanks,
-
