  13. Being the owner of a PC without a sound board, I had almost accepted
  14. to live without sound in Windows - but then I heard of the PC-SPEAKER
  15. driver on ftp.cica.indiana.edu, I fetched it, installed it and hit the
  16. test button. SOUND!. Wow!. I then proceeded to assign sounds to
  17. various events - all of them actually.

  19. Now on to the problem.

  21. I get my tada sound when starting windows and my chime sound when
  22. exiting windows - otherwise nothing!. As I understand it, I should get
  23. my assigned sound (chord) when for instance a dialog box appears with
  24. an exclamation mark in it, but nothing happens. Am I misunderstanding
  25. something fundamental or what?
