  11. i was wondering whether there is any software available for
  12. the pc which will save the state of the machine (running 
  13. windows 3.1) before a shutdown so that when i boot up again
  14. it will bring me back to the exact same state (same applications
  15. running with files open).

  17. what it would have to do is save the all of virtual memory onto
  18. a file and restore the memory upon boot up.  it would also have
  19. to restore the state of the video, disk driver, and any other
  20. cards connected to the machine.

  22. i think that this software would be very useful for those of us
  23. who do not leave our machines on all the time.
