- My main goal in life is be be able to Zmodem download files and
- do other constructive work at the same time. After I fixed my problem w/
- 800x600, I started experimenting w/ this goal. When I run Procomm 2.4.2 as
- a non-windows app and any other non-windows app it freezes up Procomm. When I
- turn off Exclusive and try it again, it tell me that exclusive needs to be on.
- And sometimes it tells me I don't have enought memory. However, windows says
- I have plenty free. When I run procomm w/ any Windows App it works fine.
-
- So, to the root of my question...
-
- 1) Why is it that Non-windows apps cannot take advantage of
- the Virtual memory provided in Windows 3.1?
-
- 2) Is there anyway to make DOS run as a Windows App?
-
- 3) Is my only solution to purchase the Windows versions of
- all of my favorite packages?
-
- 4) Is Desqview X or Windows NT a better solution?
-
- I would be very interested in hearing what your opinions are.
-
- Thanks...
