  27. The operating system is irrelevant.  Any operating system for the PC has
  28. ways of dealing with more than two physical HD's.  If the hardware you've
  29. got doesn't support them, NO OS will let you use more than two drives.

  31. The trick (as Ralf Brown said in an earlier note) is to use controllers that
  32. will let you reassign their control port addresses (usually by jumpers)
  33. and/or use controllers that can, of and by themselves, control more than
  34. two drives each (SCSI included but not exclusive).

  36. Since this is more of a "caveat emptor" issue rather than a *.programmer issue,
  37. I suppose helpful folks could send specific brand names and models of boards
  38. to the original poster (if they haven't already).
