  14. I had a similar problem with my 386/16 vintage 87.

  16. I tried to install a 3.5" drive which was not supported in 
  17. the CMOS setup (the BIOS). I spent a lot of effort trying to

  19. cheat DOS into believing that a 3.5" drive was ok, but I never
  20. succeeded. I managed to make it write and read a 768 Kbyte floppy
  21. but never a 1.44 Mbyte and I never managed to make it format any floppy.

  23. Recently my motherboard died and I bought a new
  24. one which supported the drive. I'll probably live forever
  25. happy unless a 1,5" floppy is introduced.

  27. By the way, in Denmark a 286/25 motherboard costs less than 
  28. $80, so why not get a new motherboard ?
