- Menitoning WordStar brings the wonderful little VDE editor to mind. It
- is based on WordStar. But it also has limited read/write capabilities
- to Word"Perfect", XyWrite/Nota Bene, MS Word, etc. It also has a menu-bar
- system, includes some standard printer drivers (including lasers) and
- basic text formatting options. It also has a built in "macro" system
- and allows on-the-fly programmed editing. It was "freeware"; the author
- now suggests a registration fee (nominal). It is at SIMTEL and mirrors
- as VDE163.ZIP in the msdos/editors directory. *Well* worth a look.
-
- Hope this helps.
