  11. I'm running Stacker 2.01 (software only) on a 386 25MHz 4Meg machine. 
  12. I'm getting a reported 1.8:1 compression ratio. Of course, there's some
  13. wasted space due to cluster sizes. The Stacker manual says you should use
  14. 8K clusters unless you have lots of small files (I don't know what lots
  15. means). STAC says that performance will suffer using 4K clusters. The 
  16. question is: Does anyone know by how much performance will suffer, and
  17. how much extra space do you get by going to 4K clusters? I know that every
  18. answer will be dependant on the particular system and mix of files, but
  19. if anyone has done a comparison, I'd like to know before I try it
  20. myself. Of course even with an extra ??Meg, it will fill up quickly. I
  21. think the old adage "Work expands to fill the time" applies equally to
  22. disk space. Thanks in advance.
