- How difficult is it to port Mach 3.0/Mach support software to the
- SPARC processor? Could someone provide some insight into
- this for me? Has anyone got Mach up and running on a SPARC
- from freely available sources?
-
- Given the fact that:
- 1) the micro kernel is available
- 2) BNR2 *is/may be* available
- 3) Linux is available
- etc....
- this feat should be possible, or should have already been done.
- However, I seem to recall a posting from one of the people
- working on Linux asking for SPARC information because Sun
- was uncooperative. So perhaps this is the crux of the
- difficulty. Anyone have such experiences?
-
- I've looked through some of the documentation on
- mach.cs.cmu.edu, but so far haven't found any "in depth"
- porting information, but I haven't looked at all of it.
-
- I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience getting
- Mach running on a "non-supported" environment. Or just anyone
- has advice on where to start with this endeavor.
-

- many thanks,
