  17. CHORUS is a real-time microkernel written by Chorus Systemes (Paris).
  18. It has the same features than Mach.

  20. Chorus/Mix is the Unix Multi-server running on top of the micro-kernel. There are
  21. different versions of the server (BSD, SYS VR4).

  23. At CERN, a group is porting Chorus and Chorus/Mix to the T800 and T9000
  24. transputers (Harmony project).
  25. Chorus is used in a distributed operating system course made at the university
  26. of NANCY (France) by Francois Schwaab (schwaab@loria.fr). I'm in fact a student coming from this university.
  27. It is used in the industry too : Alcatel Business System (Strasbourg, France)
  28. use the Chorus microkernel in its telecommunication products.

  30. Chorus has a few interresting features not present in mach (real-time,
  31. supervisor actors) but many theorical features are not yet implemented 
  32. (Kernel 3.3 lacks port migration, remote actors and threads creation,
  33. region migration, etc...)

  35. Does anybody know if the Chorus microkernel 3.4 has all these interresting features ?
  36. Is there a chorus newsgroup ?
  37. Does anybody use Chorus (any types of machines) (industry, research, university)?
