- It is public knowledge that USL has been talking to Chorus for at
- least several months, maybe even a year. Maybe I'm wrong, but I
- thought the Chorus product was licensed by USL long before August
- 1992.

- That is a valid point, however, I suspect that much of Chorus' product
- (i.e. the servers (or whatever they are called in Chorusspeak) for the
- UNIX specific portions of the OS, the commands, etc.) is based on code
- licensed from USL, just as Mach has lots of BSD code in its server(s).
- Perhaps someone from Chorus can elaborate on how much of USL UNIX is
- in their product?

- Not likely, given the above point and the one I will make here. Before
- assuming that USL has switched religions, consider the fact that these
- talks have been ongoing for months during which time USL has placed
- virtually no emphasis on marketing microkernel technology. I suspect
- they acquired the technology from Chorus so as not to be left behind
- by OSF. IMHO, the monolithic kernel from USL isn't in the least bit of
- danger.
