  11. I remember seeing someone posting about having ported zmodem to linux, so
  12. I thought I'd post my question here.  I mailed this to omen!caf but he's
  13. ignoring it.

  15. I grabbed the source to rz from whatever comp.sources group it was in and
  16. it compiled and ran to my surprise with no changes.  But all through the
  17. docs and man pages is this big warning "rz is not to be run from 'cu' or
  18. other terminal programs -- use our professional-yam comm software".

  22. I only have kermit, but I've successfully downloaded big binary files by
  23. starting sz on the remote system, escaping kermit back to local, and running
  24. "rz </dev/modem >/dev/modem" on another virtual console.

  26. It was not always entirely successful, however, so I'm curious to know if there
  27. is a short answer to this.  (On occasion it will stop in the middle with a 
  28. message about reading the BUGS section of the manual)
