  16. Well, partially, yes. But there are a few cases where you still might want
  17. to have Mtools around (besides mformat):

  19.   - it's a backup if you hit a bug in the MS-DOS FS.
  20.   - handling is slightly easier if you only want to perform one or two
  21.     operations on a disk.
  22.   - some operations are faster than with the MS-DOS FS.
  23.   - mattrib can change all attribute bits, including "sys" and "hidden".
  24.   - mlabel can't be emulated by the MS-DOS FS.
  25.  
  26. But for starters who only want to get at their downloaded files, the
  27. MS-DOS FS should be all that's needed.
