- I know this has been discussed before (and if you know where the answer lies,
- point me to it and I'll try toi figure it out myself).
-
- I just installed mcc-interim 0.97p2. I wanted to try the new version of the
- extfs (8) so I compiled it and (with a little ingenuity) managed to create the
- extfs. The problem is that after I installed the whole mcc package and
- rebooted, I got a magic match failed error mounting my first partition (/).
-
- I did a mount and saw that my first partition was minix instead of ext. the
- second partition was OK. fdisk states that the partition is ext but mount
- seems to fail on that same partiotion.
-
- Is the mount on mcc-interim p2 incompatible with extfs 8?
-
- BTW, I tried creating a long file name on the "minix" partition and it
- succeeded (no file name truncation).
-
- This is my setup:
-
- 486-33
- 4MB RAM (AMI BIOS)
- 210 MB IDE drive
-
- /dev/hda1 ~130MB DR-DOS
- /dev/hda2 10MB Linux partition
- /dev/hda3 8MB swap
- /dev/hda4 ~35MB /usr partition
-
- Thanks for any help you may give me.
