- Hi.
- I currently need some advice as to which svga board to purchase
- to allow X386 to its full potential.
-
- I currently have a ProParadise 512k with max resolution of 800x600.
- Unfortunately, my monitor does not support 800x600, but it does
- support 1024x768. Therefore, I had to resort running X under
- 640x480x256. Under this mode, the xterms scroll very slowly,
- and the computer cannot seem to refresh the screen as fast
- as it wants (I have a 386 33- 8 megs). This slow speed
- I think originates from the slow card.
-
- I've heard that the ET-4000 cards are enhanced graphics cards,
- that allow quick redraws (coprocessed?). If so, what
- brand is compatible with X. Are the Orchid Series just that?
- Thanks in advance.
