  11. On the subject of video cards, I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to support
  12. X on my current 640x480 monitor, while giving myself growing room for when I
  13. can afford a better monitor.  I've seen advertised two inexpensive Tseng Labs
  14. SVGA cards (no model numbers given):

  16. ET4000 1024x768         $95

  18. ET4000 1280x1024        $105

  20. I'm wondering if either or both of these card will work properly with X386 at
  21. both 640x480x256 and 1024x768x256 or x16.  One of the files in the SLS X
  22. distribution /usr/lib/X11/docs directory has an Xconfig entry for a Tseng Labs
  23. card, but I can't tell which of the two it's for.

  25. If anyone has used a Tseng Labs card successfully (or most especially if an
  26. attempt was unsuccessful), please mail or post to let me know about your 
  27. experience.  I'm also interested in what kind of performance I might expect
  28. with a fairly plain-vanilla non-accelerated card like this.
