  13. My hardware: (no-name-clone( 486/33, 8MB, 234MB, ET4000 SVGA...
  14. My os: MS-DOS 5.0

  16. Now, I'm not too happy with the MS-DOS, and I'm planning to install also
  17. some UN*X system to another partition in my HD (I suppose, I will have
  18. plenty of space to do that...). Now, I have couple of questions for you
  19. more experienced people in this matter. I do know something about Unix and
  20. use it in my work, but I would love to have it at home also.

  22. I have read lots of things about different Unixes and my options have now
  23. come to 2, Coherent or Linux.

  27. 1) Have you used Coherent before? If so, why did you change to Linux?
  28.    The price is not a reason, Coherent is extremely cheap to my standards
  29.    and I wouldn't think twice about paying for it...

  31. 2) How I can get Coherent  on  disks? I have read in this newsgroup about
  32.    these "SLS (or whatever) distributions", but are they in CDROM? I would
  33.    like to get a distribution package, which includes the X, gcc and other
  34.    stuff as well. Now, I can not do anonymous FTP... And I don't have a
  35.    CDROM player, only 5"25 and 3"5 drives...:(
