  12. Hi. More problems: I just finished getting mount-0.97 and the
  13. 0.97.pl5 kernel compiled (all of this comoiling was done under
  14. 0.97pl2): Now, when I boot under 0.97pl5, everything (sorta)
  15. works fine (I have the feeling I need to compile mount under pl5)
  16. and the login: prompt is presented, but when I try to log in,
  17. nothing happens. I.e.
  18.  
  19. loomer login: root [I don't have any passwords]

  21. and it just sits there, like the shell is thinking. I can go to other pty's
  22. using the ALT-F keys combo, but they sit there after I type in a username
  23. as well. Any ideas? Maybe there's something in login or whatever that I need
  24. to recompile... /etc/motd isn't even showing up at login time (as it
  25. used to with the 0.97-1 rootdisk provided login).
