- I think the wording here is kind of unfortunate. We just had a
- very long thread in which many people said "linux is evolving too
- fast, we need to slow it down and stabilize the releases". In response
- to which one linux hacker after another (correctly) pointed out that
- stability is in the hands of the individual: that if you don't
- want to destabilize, don't upgrade your system often. I, for instance,
- am still at 0.96c and have no intention of upgrading until
- 1.0, because all my applications work now.
- In light of the above history, I think it would be better to
- simply say "you need to upgrade to 0.97pl4 IF you want to install the
- new gcc and/or X11 v2.0". Otherwise the message from the linux-leaders
- seems kind of schizophrenic.
