  15. I have uploaded xdm.bin.tar.Z to tsx-11.mit.edu,
  16. it should appear in /pub/linux/binaries/usr.bin.X11 .
  17. It's a port of X display manager
  18. from the X11R5 distribution for linux 0.97pl2 or newer.
  19. IT DOES NOT RUN WITH LINUX 0.97 ( problems with file locking )
  20. It runs as daemon from /etc/rc
  21. and keeps the X system running all the time. login's and
  22. user sessions are managed on top of X.
  23. X11 1.1 or newer is needed for this. The binaries are
  24. linked `-static' with 2.2.2d libs and X11-1.1 libs.
  25. I will make shared executables when the new X11 2.0
  26. is out.

  28. xdm.bin.tar.Z contains binaries, configuration files
  29. a README.linux with installation steps,
  30. and a context diff listing against X11R5 sources.
