  17. Didn't work for me.  I solved my goofy shutdown message by getting
  18. shutdown from the stock 97.1 root disk. (although when I copied the
  19. reboot that exists on the MCC "Util" disk in tar.Z.files/bin.tar.Z I
  20. couldn't reproduce the problem)

  22. My lockup on reboot problem was solved by turing off BIOS shadowing in
  23. the CMOS settings for my machine.  No loss under Linux.
