  13. I seem to be having some trouble with programs I compiled for X.  I 
  14. got a bunch of files from tsx-11.mit.edu, and linked the .a's, but
  15. when I try to execute them, I get a core dump.  At first I though it
  16. was the .a files being bad, but the same thing happened when I compiled
  17. xshowgif.  I have seen some references that GCC 2.2.2d is incompatible
  18. with the current version of X.  Is this true, and if so is there an
  19. expected date for versions that will be compatible with each other?
