- Following hints supplied on this group, I managed to compile xtdm-2.5.
- It comes up with some of the pretty icons and all (varying luck
- depending on where I am when I call it up), but with lots of nasty
- messages like:
-
- X Protocol Error, trapped and continuing.
- X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
- Major opcode of failed request: 62 (X_CopyArea)
- Minor opcode of failed request: 0
- Resource id in failed request: 0x300005b
- Serial number of failed request: 395
- Current serial number in output stream: 501

- I swear I put the libraries in the right place. I even compiled xpm-3.0
- jsut to try to appease it. I used the .xdtmrc that came with it, and
- later tried cutting down the icons, to no avail. All the bitmaps seem to
- be in place. When I try to do anything, like change directories, it
- crashes and spews core files in the target directory. the defaults are
- installed and apparantly read, since the colors and size are right.
-
- Does anyone have this running, or any desktop manager? I know many of you
- think that this is unnecessary, but I like the ease of using icons to
- launch programs and manage files.
-
- I have 0.96b and gcc-2.2.2, with compatible X11R5.a
