- Hi:
-
- As the subject says I had/have quite a bit of difficulty in making X v1.1 to
- work. version 1.0 works flawlessly (I am using it now) but v1.1 does not. I
- cornered the problem down to X386 server. Here is what happens. With v1.1 I
- get no image at all - all I get is a flickering screen (oh, boy! didn't I have
- difficulty in getting out of X). When I replace the version 1.1 X386 by v1.0
- X386 (but retain all other stuff from v1.1) I get back to working system.
- Could some one tell me what I am doing wrong (I read the README's and I still
- not able to see the answer to this, if it is there). Here is what I have:
-
- 1) gcc -v tells me
- Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.2.2/specs
- gcc version 2.2.2
-
- 2) Linux version 0.96c
- 3) Gateway 2000 486DX/33 with Diamond Speedstar Plus card and microsoft serial
- mouse (I believe zorst has the same display hardware)
- 4) NEC 5FG (shouldn't matter)
-
- Please help.
-
- Ramesh.
-
- PS. btw, could some one tell me how I can swap the functionality of backspace
- and delete keys in X - RR.
