- The garbled message you mention is probably being sent, and I have no
- idea why. I am getting reports of the same thing from my UUCP feeds.
-
- I FINALLY get news and mail running under linux (thanks in a large part
- to the SLS distribution -- even though I had to recompile pieces of it
- to get the domain names correct -- Ed Carp, and HJ who produced a C
- compiler that tokk Cnews without a burp) and now my feeds can't login.
-
- If I call myself using minicom (one of the advantages of having two
- phone lines and two modems) I have no problems logging in under any
- user name and doing ``normal'' unix operations. When one of my UUCP
- feeds calls in -- he's running a DOS machine and the latest UUPC I think --
- he gets the login: prompt, sends his login, and the gets various
- gibberish from me followed by a hangup string. The same thing happens
- when he tries to log in from kermit. Any suggestions??
