- I think tytso does nice work, and the real niceness is
- that we do things differently. I like variations ...
-
- : Not exactly everything is up to date. Among other things, there is a
- : uemacs binary (no sources as far as I could find) from December, 1991.
- : And I think I still saw the ancient make that only ran as root...
-
- Yes, there are also OLD binaries .. because I personally
- do not use those ;-) and nobody has ftp put newer ones
- to incoming ;-)
-
- : Don't take this as a flame (please, Arl :), but I didn't want anybody to
- : get a too rosy picture of nic.funet.fi. Nic is actually pretty good,
- : and of course there is a _lot_ of stuff there.
-
- No, nic.funet.fi ftp area is not nice .. and I'm building
- up a better area at Linux/testing/arlify tree. Btw. there's
- newer gmake too ..
-
- I do like that every package has some quick & fast way to
- know what's in it ... and a longer README too. I like that
- is package has name 'package' the readme file is 'package.README'
- or 'package.readme' .. and the real name contains version
- number like 'package-0.1.tar.Z' .. etc. etc. but you can't
- always win ;-(
-
- In nic quick & fast way is in INDEX file (long ;-).
