- Some Universities offer an Integrated Studies program, which allows you
- to develop a customized degree (if the Dean approves it). I just
- graduated from the University of Nebraska with an Integrated Studies
- degree in Multimedia Computing. It was about half Computer Science; and
- half a mix of media-related topics such as Film Studies, audio, Video
- Production, acting, art, and some special topics degrees where I worked
- one-on-one with a professor on a multimedia presentation.
-
- I started several years ago, when mm wasn't so popular; but it was fun,
- and to my knowledge I'm the first person in the world with a degree in
- Multimedia Computing. I'm job-hunting now, and the only hard part is
- that I want to stay in Nebraska or Colorado to stay close to family.
- If there's a center to mm, it's the Bay area. I may yet wind up there.
-
- You might want to check out San Francisco State, they are offering a
- couple of courses in mm. If you don't like California, try asking
- the college of you choice about a specialized degree. A few people
- will give you a funny look, but don't get discouraged until someone
- who knows for sure says 'no'. Good luck, please let me know how it
- turns out.
