- Ah, Xenix-68K... I have three of these beasties, all old Model 16B's that have
- been, ..err... *modified* a little. When you are talking that one of these has
- a 6MHZ Z80 speedup and a 12MHz 68010 upgrade (the instructions to go to a
- 68010 is included as part of the 3.2 Dev Sys in a .tar file in /usr/lib), with
- a 4 MB RAM upgrade.... I guess that qualifies as *modified*. Only one machine
- is running a 68010 (it's a 10Mhz 010, but it hums nicely at 12 as long as I
- keep the temp down (and with a fair-sized heatsink on the 010). The others
- are running 68K's, one at 8Mhz and the other at 12.
-
- However, even the T6K Xenix is not the ultimate in small size. How about
- 2BSD for the PDP-11?? Or, better yet, Cromix for the Z80. Both of these are
- limited to a logical memory space of 64K. Cromix required 192K, I believe. I
- have seen PDP 11/23's running 2BSD with a mere 256K.
