- What the chips say is not really useful in determining what your memory is.
- Look at the way the chips are on the motherboard. Are they on their own
- separate little cards that are plugged into the motherboard? Or are the
- individual chips plugged into the motherboard itself?

- If they are on their own removable mini boards, what do the connections
- to the motherboard look like? How many chips are there on each little card?
- If there are 9 and the connections are similar to that of your expansion
- cards (though on a smaller scale) then those are most likely SIMMs. If
- there are fewer than 9 chips and the connections are like little wires
- that extend out of the card, then you probably have SIPs (less common
- than SIMMs).
