  35.      Most Usenet newsgroups do not correspond to any mailing list, so
  36.      the conventional answer to this question is "no" for most groups.
  37.      However, there are some newsgroups that are gatewayed to mailing lists.  
  38.      For a list of them, see the "List of Active Newsgroups"
  39.      posting in news.announce.newusers.

  41.      If you know a Usenet site-administrator who is willing to act as a
  42.      personal gateway for you, you might be able to get him/her to set
  43.      up his/her system to forward messages from individual newsgroups
  44.      to you via E-mail.  However, most administrators don't like to do this
  45.      because it adds to the outgoing traffic from their site, so don't
  46.      post messages to the net saying, "Hey, is there someone willing
  47.      to gateway newsgroups to me?"
