  21. Thanks for the script, Marc!  I was able to make it functional by doing
  22. the following:

  24.     1.  At the end of the package, place a "1" before the semicolon.
  25.     2.  Where the values of X, M, C, and I are assigned, put a "1" at
  26.     the beginning of the literal value.
  27.     3.  Run testromn.pl repeatedly, and insert a "1" wherever there is
  28.     a syntax error.  :-)

  30. The package works fine now, but the documentation shows that it was written
  31. about September, 992 A.D!  Perhaps this will cut down on Marc's mail for
  32. resends.
