- I'm using a small compiler / debugger from Borland to learn Pascal. I
- like it a great deal, and plan at some point to get a full-featured
- compiler. Being new to this, I have a lot of questions, which I hope
- net members can answer.
-
- From reading the net, I have the impression that 'Turbo' Pascal is the
- standard, and that version 6.0 of the compiler is the latest. Is that
- correct? Do you recommend 6.0 as the best compiler? Does it have any
- problems which would make it worthwhile to wait for the next version?
-
- Whatever I get, I have another decision; whether to get the DOS or
- Windows version. I have DOS 5.0, Windows 3.1, and 4mbyte of RAM, using
- a 386 machine. Someone told me that running a Windows application
- allows the application to access more RAM than the DOS version of the
- application. Is that correct? I hope to use Pascal at work as well as
- on personal applications, and assume that I will occasionally write
- large programs. Any recommendations?
-
- Thanks for any help you can give me.
