  12. I'm using a small compiler / debugger from Borland to learn Pascal. I
  13. like it a great deal, and plan at some point to get a full-featured
  14. compiler.  Being new to this, I have a lot of questions, which I hope
  15. net members can answer.

  17. From reading the net, I have the impression that 'Turbo' Pascal is the
  18. standard, and that version 6.0 of the compiler is the latest.  Is that
  19. correct?  Do you recommend 6.0 as the best compiler?  Does it have any
  20. problems which would make it worthwhile to wait for the next version?

  22. Whatever I get, I have another decision; whether to get the DOS or
  23. Windows version.  I have DOS 5.0, Windows 3.1, and 4mbyte of RAM, using
  24. a 386 machine.  Someone told me that running a Windows application
  25. allows the application to access more RAM than the DOS version of the
  26. application.  Is that correct?  I hope to use Pascal at work as well as
  27. on personal applications, and assume that I will occasionally write
  28. large programs.  Any recommendations?
