  14. I have to assign a student problem to be programmed in C++.
  15. The students should be able to complete it in, let's say,
  16. about 12 hours.  I would like to come up with a problem
  17. that would highlight any drawbacks of C++ relative to other
  18. OO languages (other than the temptation to program in
  19. straight C).  Something that would convince them they "deserve
  20. better than a C+", to quote a promotional button put out
  21. by a well-known supplier of Eiffel compilers.  Kindly mail
  22. me ideas (let's not start a war across two newsgroups
  23. about which language is better).  Thanks.

  25. PS: they will also have problems to do in Eiffel and
  26. Smalltalk.  Consequently they will have a chance to compare
  27. languages.
