- CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
- WORKSHOP ON MULTIVARIATE, MULTIDIMENSIONAL VISUALIZATION (mDv)

- This will be an all-day workshop. Participants will be selected based
- on their work in the field. The goal of the workshop is to present
- state of the art developments in the field, and support an active,
- critical discussion.

- o Methods
- Glyph and Icon
- Parallel Coordinate
- Hierarchal Dimension
- Grand Tour
- o Problems
- Adjacency in n dimensions
- Decluttering the display
- Exploiting the visual pre-processing system
- Conserving structure in complex data

- The discussion will avoid platform specific issues, although they
- may be invoked in demonstrating other issues.

- Last year's workshop on this topic was the context for intense and
- sustained discussion on several foundation issues in the field.

- fee. Lunch and breaks are included, as well as a bound copy of the
- participants position papers.

- This is a critical topic in the visualization field, and this workshop is
- intended to stimulate research in the area by providing a forum for
- informal, high-level discussion. Deadline for submissions is September 15,
- and notification of acceptance will be September 18.
