  14. There is a new version of the RTrace ray-tracing package (8.0.0) at
  15. asterix.inescn.pt [192.35.246.17] in directory pub/RTrace

  19. The MAC port is being prepared to be released by Reid Judd 
  20. (reid.judd@east.sun.com) and Greg Ferrar
  21. (gregt@function.mps.ohio-state.edu).

  26. Enhancements were done since version 7.3.2, mainly:
  27.  
  28. 1. It has no limit on the number of objects to render (there is a
  29. command line option to control it; scenes with up to 1000000 have been
  30. rendered!).
  31. The same applies to light sources and surfaces.
  32.  
  33. 2. It is now possible to produce animation fly-throughs easily. The scene is
  34. read only once and successive images are produced. There are new command
  35. line options to specify it. The fly-throughs may be controlled by the
  36. EYE and LOOK points, the UP vector and the APERTURE angles.
  37. All there is to do is just create a text file with the numbers and give
  38. it to the program...

  41. The support programs 'nff2sff', 'nffclean' and 'nffp2pp' have been
  42. enhanced to support unlimited number of objects, etc.
