- I am working on a simple graphics program, but would like to do away with
- the 'What type of video do YOU support?' question. I can distinguish
- between VESA-compatibles, Video-7/VEGA compatibles, and the rest of the
- crowd, but am unable to get more specific -- or general -- than that. How
- can I test to see whether a board is CGA, EGA, or VGA? I know it can be
- done, because I have seen programs do it, but how?
- The source (C, preferably) to a 'whichvga'-type program (like the
- programs included with CShow and VPic) would also be of use in my endeavors.
- Also, finally, does anyone out there know a routine to determine how much
- memory is on a board? Through int 10 I can find up to 256k, and on some
- boards even identify if its VRAM or DRAM, but more quantitative precision would
- be much appreciated.
-
- Thanks in advance,
