- You are well advised to read the documentation provided with Demacs. It
- mentions how Demacs is a much changed version of Emacs and that only
- the Lisp files that it was neccassary to change for DOS were included.
- Your comments on locations varying is also valid since DOS files tend
- to have a different length than their UNIX cousins due to the Line Feed
- an Carriage return vs. CR.

- Anyway, the best way for you to get Emacs working under Unix is to
- obtain a copy of the original Unix Gnu Emacs distribution (The address
- is in the Emacs FAQ), and install that. The Demacs distribution is
- by its very nature incompatible.
