- DJ Delorie says that the problem is that Windows only uses DPMI level
- 0.9, which isn't powerful to support GO32. He says in the readme file
- to DJGPP (his free port of GNU CC/C++ to non-DPMI dos) that he's
- waiting for DPMI 1.0
-
- Why not use Win32s when it becomes available. Win32s is 32-bit windows 3.1
- dlls which should be available at the end of the month I think.
-
- Also available at the end of the month is POSIX for NT. This should really
- make live easy if you can port GNU emacs to a single process/thread using
- the win32s api. (Assuming you can program for POSIX and then run in 3.1
- using the 32-bit 3.1 dlls.)
-
- At any rate, 32-bit capacity is right around the corner. I'm really anxious
- to get the real emacs under windows 3.1.
