- Hello out here in Net.Land....
-
- I hope you will pardon the extensive cross-posting, but this doesn't
- seem to fit in any one place, if you know of a better forum, please
- let me know...
-
- That said, here's my problem: I am trying to retreive the data from
- an ancient CPT 8515. This is a dedicated word processor that was
- manufactured circa 1985. It takes 8inch, ss/sd disks that supposedly
- hold ~120k apiece. We wish to convert the data to some format
- readable by an MS-Dos machine... as close to ASCII or WP51 as
- possible.
-
- We can transfer files from the CPT to a laptop via a serial
- connection, but only in a limited fashion. That is, we can retrieve
- the data and send it, but without file breaks or file names or labels
- of any sort.
-
- What I am looking for is a way to transmit the missing information:
- the file name in particular, and the extended label if possible. Am I
- trying to re-invent the wheel? Has some kind soul already figured out
- a way to do this?
-
- Thanks in advance for any pointers. Please respond by e-mail, and I
- will summarize (somewhere....) if there is interest....
-
- Thanks!
