  16. One of my friends is starting in the M.S. programme at one of the
  17. universities in US. DSP happens to be one of the courses he could
  18. choose from. While he does have some background on the subject, he
  19. would like to know more about the general aspects like -
  20.  
  21.     How would a specialization in the subject help him
  22.         professionally ?
  23.     Is DSP more of a research subject, or does it have many
  24.         real-world applications existing ?
  25.     What is the scope of the subject in the future ?
  26.     Other bits of information, not related to the technical
  27.         aspects of the subject ... etc etc.
