- Hi there folks,
-
- I am currently managing a project in voice encryption which uses the
- new Motorola 56156 DSP chip. My question is this:
-
- We have checked with Motorola and Domain Technologies (the
- manufacturer of our 56156 emulation package) and as far as we can
- tell there is no "C" compiler available for this chip. We are
- currently using the assembler we got from Domain, but this is a long
- and tedious process, especially in light of the fact that much of
- the code we need to use on this chip, has already been written in
- "C" for use on the 56001 chip, which was a previous generation of
- this product.
-
- Does anyone out there know if there is a compiler available for this
- chip from any source? (GNU etc.)
-
- You can respond to bpisacan@world.std.com directly, and/or post any
- information you think might be useful.
-
- Presently we are taking the assembly language output from the 56001
- compiler, and modifying it for the 56156. This is not a fruitful
- effort as it is extremely error prone. Our only alternative is to
- re-write lots of code in assembly language, a process in itself
- quite error prone.
-
- any information would be appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
-
