- Hi Jeff,
- The subjective speech quality of (a correctly implemented) 4800bps
- CELP speech compression system is very impressive and is quite suitable
- for telephone-quality speech.
-
- My company, Analogical Systems, has implemented a U.S.F.S 1016 CELP
- vocoder based upon a single 27MHz Motorola DSP56001 (the analyzer
- searches the entire 512 stochastic vector codebook in real time).
- The DSP56001 source and/or object code is available for licensing.
-
- Demonstration systems are also available, based upon Ariel Corp's
- PC-56 or PC-56D boards. A complete demonstration system (including the
- Ariel PC-56 board) is available from Analogical Systems for only $595.
- This would allow you to assess the speech quality for yourself.
-
- Feel free to contact me directly at Analogical Systems, 415-323-3232.
-
- Best Regards,
- Cole Erskine
