- We've used the Annex3 and Micro Annex terminal servers from Xylogics and have
- been very happy with them. We were using them with Sun workstations and
- servers. Xylogics did most of their software development with Sun's in mind
- and since we were a Sun shop we didn't really look at what other things
- they support. My preference was to the Micro Annexs since it was better for
- us to have a portable (8-16 port) cost effective box rather than lots and lots
- of ports (Annex 3).
-
- We actually turned to the Annex terminal servers after using 3Com (was Bridge
- Communications) CS210 terminal servers. The 3Com boxes worked fine until we
- got to the point where we wanted to print over the network. After much
- frustration and no progress (3Com was _very_ unresponsive) We decided to
- go out and look at the market. We were very happy with the Xylogics disk
- conrollers and that probably swayed us the final bit. After trying the
- boxes we were very happy and they support the printing functions very well.
-
- Hope this helps. If you have any furthor questions, feel free to email me.
