  13. Earlier today, I had been using MS-KERMIT to dial in to a computer.
  14. I logged off, hung up, and exited. A little while later (while in the
  15. middle of another program, unrelated to serial communications), the
  16. phone rang and my PC completely froze, requiring a hard reboot.

  18. I have a Zoom 2400bps modem attached to COM1, if this is relevant.
  19. I've noticed this occurring intermittently before.

  21. Why should the phone cause my PC to die, and is there anything I can do
  22. about it?
