- I have a ZyXel U1496E and I'm trying to determine if I truly have the sockets
- to support the 1meg ROMS.
-
- The ROMS I have are 4.08 and of course have 14 pins to a side of the chip. The
- sockets they sit in both have 16 pin holes in them. However the on the top
- right side pin hole 16 is just a plastic hole with no metal "tube" extending
- down to the motherboard. The same is true of pin hole 15 on the lower right
- side of the sockets.
-
- pin 16 is an empty hole, where counting the pin numbers goes from left to
- right.
-
- / / This is the "top"
- [ U24 ] [ U25 ]
- / / This is the "bottom"
-
- pin 15 is an "empty" hole, where counting the pin numbers goes from left to
- right..
-
- So do my sockets support the 1 meg ROM chips or not?
