- Actually, TIES will not switch into command mode *unless* the escape
- sequence is followed by a *valid* AT command, which (like the Hayes
- guard time) substantially reduces the chance of a false switch; i.e.,
- your +++ alone will *not* switch a TIS modem into command mode.

- In fact there are a number of U.S. modem manufacturers using TIES
- rather than the Hayes patent. I would guess that the ad is aimed at
- them.
